Come meet our dog Kam

Say Hi to Kam

This little guy is the four-legged love of my life.  Everybody meet Kam.  Our lovable little 2 1/2 year old rescue Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix).  He runs, well he thinks that he runs the house.

How Kam came to our home

Eric and I rescued Kam in August of 2014.  He was 5 months old and so cute and tiny, like a mere 6 pounds. Eric, being a climber, named him Kam as is Cam….a tiny little thing that gets stuck in cracks.  I decided to spell it with a K, just to be different.  Kam has fit right in to our little family quite nicely.  When we first brought Kam home,  he was super reserved and shy.  It was probably 4 or 5 months before he even made a sound.  We were beginning to think that something was wrong with his vocal cords.  Boy were we wrong.  The more comfortable, at home and very protective, (of me in particular), Kam became, he definitely found his bark.

Now he barks if the wind blows.  But we love him all the same.

img_3709A few Kam fun facts:

His #1 love beside me and daddy…..FOOD.  His, yours and ours.  He is, unfortunately, the biggest beggar with the “I’m so hungry I’ve never eaten” eyes.  We are trying to retrain him not to beg.  It hasn’t worked, YET.

Kam gets very car sick, so he’s not a fan of riding in the car.  There is a ton of preparation and forethought that goes into any road trips with our little buddy.

Kam loves loves loves his Grandma Bebe (my mother and GrandDog sitter)

Kam is pretty smart.  He passed his puppy classes with flying colors and I knows all the basic commands.  And he listens…….when he wants to.

Kam hates taking pictures.  He looks away a just the right moment to ruin a great shot.  But we’ve gotten a few here and there.

Kam loves camping and being outdoors, but he hates the cold, anything on his paws and he only likes to sit outdoors on his pad or a towel.  So I generally carry his fuzzy pad around when we go out camping/climbing.

Kam likes to sleep with his head on a pillow…..and he snores.
